Say bye bye to dry, flaky lips

 

During the cooler months our skin tends to get dry and our lips are facing this issue as well! To me this is one of the most annoying things ever especially when I want to wear lipstick. Over the years I've tried many different tricks to keep dryness at bay and I came up with this routine which won't completely solve the problem but will definitely improve the look of your lips if you keep up with it. Believe it or not a good scrub is the base to avoid your lips to get dry and flaky so be sure to do that once a week. I use Lush scrub but you can use any kind you like or you can make it at home, mixing a tsp of sugar with a tsp of honey. You can also use a thick moisturizer and rub it onto your lips with a cotton bud. Rinse it off and apply a good lip balm. My favourites are Elizabeth Arden 8hr cream, Nuxe Rêve de Miel (you can use those as an over night treatment as well) and Burt's Bees honey lip balm that you can keep in you purse and apply on the go. To me this an easy and fast way to keep my lips nice and moist all year round :) I hope it was helpful and i wish you all a nice day!

Nei mesi invernali, la nostra pelle tende ad essere più secca e anche le nostre labbra si trovano a fronteggiare lo stesso problema! Per me questo è un problema molto fastidioso, specialmente nei giorni in cui decido di mettere il rossetto. Nel corso degli anni ho provato di tutto per cercare di tenere la situazione sotto controllo e alla fine ho trovato una routine, che pur non risolvendo completamente il problema,  se ripetuta regolarmente, tiente la situazione sotto controllo e migliora decisamente l'aspetto delle labbra. Difficile da credere, ma un buono scrub è alla base della salute delle nostre labbra ed riduce il rischio che si secchino e si screpolino, quindi vi consiglio di farlo una volta alla settimana. Io uso lo scrub di Lush, ma ovviamente potete usare quello che preferite o addirittura farlo in casa, mischiando un cucchiaino di zucchero e un cucchiaino di miele. Se preferite potete utilizzare anche una crema idratante, sfregandola delicatamente con un cotton fioc sulle labbra. A questo punto sciacquate via il vostro scrub e applicate un balsamo per labbra. I miei preferiti sono la 8hr cream di Elizabeth Arden, il Rêve de Miel di Nuxe (che potete usare anche come trattamenti notturni) e lo stick al miele di Burt's Bees, perfetto da mettere in borsa e riapplicare durante il giorno. Per me questo è un modo facile e veloce per mantenere le labbra idratate e morbide tutto l'anno :) Spero che il post vi sia utile e vi auguro una buona giornata!

August favourites

Hi guys! Another month has flown by and this means it's time for my monthly favourites!!

BODY 

As you may know I went on holiday so I decided to take mini sized products with me to save space! I loved Soap & Glory Clean on me shower gel which have a very rich and moisturizing texture and smells delicious! I also really enjoyed using Kiehl's Coriander body lotion. Fun fact is I don't like coriander in my food but apparently I love the scent and this moisturizer worked really well for me leaving my skin soft and smelling amazing! I'm almost out if it so I'll be probably getting a bigger bottle next time I go to Kiehl's!

HAIR 

For my hair I really loved L'Oreal Ever Riche conditioner. It's very creamy and works great on my hair leaving them soft and detangled. Too bad I can't find it where I live :( Another favourite of mine was the Phyto keratin serum. You can use it both on dry or damp hair and helps to repair damaged ends and keeps your hair looking shiny and healthy!

 

FACE

I already talked about Inca Rose sheet mask HERE but I'm just going to say that it's really amazing and definitely worths trying it out! I'd been using this Clarins gentle exfoliating toner which is really a nice product. Basically it's a toner but it gently exfoliate you skin at the same time. It doesn't have beads in it so it can be use every day becase it's super delicate on the skin!

RANDOM

My favourite item of the month was without any doubts these shorts for Zara! They are so comfy and I like that they are a little bit distress but not too much. I lived in them through all my vacation XD

MAKE-UP

I didn't wear much make-up this month, just a little bit of mascara and some lip balm! My favourites were Burt's Bees Mango lip balm and Clarins lip perfector in n. 04. Both very natural but looks good on the lips and keep them moist! I also liked NYX jumbo pencil in Milk to illuminate my inner conrners or browbone!

NAILS

For nails I loved OPI nail polish in Alpine Snow. White nail polish was really on trend so I decided to give it a go and ended up really liking it!

Ciao ragazzi! Un altro mese è volato via e questo significa che è il momento di condividere con voi i miei prodotti preferiti del mese!!

CORPO 

Come forse saprete questo mese sono stata in vacanza e ho approfittato per mettere in valigia alcuni mini prodotti! Mi è piaciuto molto il bagnoschiuma di Soap & Glory Clean on me. Molto cremoso e profumatissimo. Un altro prodotto che ho adorato è la crema per il corpo al coriandolo di Kiehl's. La cosa buffa è che odio il coriandolo nel cibo, ma evidentemente mi piace il suo porfumo e questo idratante è davvero ottimo, lascia la pelle morbida e ha un profumo fresco, perfetto per l'estate! L'ho quasi finito e penso che ricomprerò la confezione grande!

CAPELLI

Per quanto riguarda i prodotti per capelli, mi sono innamorata del balsamo Ever Riche di L'Oreal. Ha una formula molto nutriente che lascia i capelli morbidi e senza nodi. Purtroppo non si trova in Italia per ora :( Un altro prodotto che ho adorato è il siero alla cheratina di Phyto. Si può usare sia sui capelli asciutti che bagnati, aiuta a riparare le punte rovinate e dando ai capelli un aspetto sano e luminoso!

  

VISO

Vi ho già parlato di questa maschera di Inca Rose QUI, quindi mi limito solo a ribadire che è fantastica e merita sicuramente di essere provata! Sto usando anche il Gentle exfoliating toner di Clarins, che in pratica è un tonico con funzione esfoliante. Proprio perchè è estremamente delicato può essere usato tutti i giorni ed è decisamente un prodotto fantastico!

RANDOM

Devo dire che questo mese non ho utilizzato molto il trucco, solo un poì di mascara e una passata di burrocacao. I miei preferti del mese sono stati il lip balm al mango di Burt's Bees e il lip perfector di Clarins nel colore n. 04. Entrambi super naturali ma molto carini!

Ho utilizzato anche la Jumbo pencil di NYX nel colore Milk, per illuminare la parte interna dell'occhio e l'arcata sopracciliare!

 

UNGHIE

Per le unghie mi è piaciuto un sacco lo smalto Alpine Snow di OPI. Lo smalto bianco è stato molto di moda questa estate e così ho deciso di provarlo, così per divertimento ed è finito per piacermi un sacco!

My favourite moisturizers

We all know that one of the main tricks for achieving a nice smooth skin is using a moisturizer and now that Summer is just around the corner we all should start to prep! There are loads of them on the market and choosing one that is righ for our skin is not always so simple so I decided to share with you some of my favourites!

1) Burt's Bees richly replenishing body lotion: This has a very buttery feel, the texture is very rich so it's perfect if you have really dry skin or to use just where you need more moist. It leaves a residue on the skin so my advice is to use it at night or when you have time to let it soak.

2) Esteé Lauder Pleasures: I got this lotion as a gift from my bf's mom and I'm pretty sure this is my third bottle. This stuff smells amazing and the scent stays on your skin all day. It's very pleasant to use because of its light texture. It immedialy absorbs into your skin so it's great even when you are in a hurry!

3) Lush Karma Kream: This is one of my all time favourites! Smells like heaven and it's not to thick and easy to absorb. I use it all year round but during Summer it's a must have!

4) The Body Shop Coconut body butter: I love The Body shop and I think their body butters are amazing! The Coconut one is my favourite but I also like Mango and Strawberry! The texture of this one is quite thick but it soaks into your skin nicely even though I give it a couple minute to completely absorb before putting my clothes on.

5) Cetaphil moisturizing lotion: This is my most recent discovery and I decided to try it because my skin is sensitive and I wanted something extremely gentle and not scented that I can use on the beach as well. Well this is such a great product: gives your skin just the right amount of moist yet it's very light so it soaks into your skin in a few seconds leaving it baby soft!!

Sappiamo tutti che per avere una pelle liscia e morbida dobbiamo usare un buon idratante e con l'Estate alle porte, è giunto il momento di iniziare a preparci! Sul mercato ci sono moltissimi prodotti idratanti e alle volte diventa difficile scegliere quello più giusto per la nostra pelle, quindi ho deciso di parlarvi dei miei idratanti preferiti anche se la cosa migliore che potete fare è ovviamente provarli!

1) Burt's Bees richly replenishing body lotion: Questa crema ha una consistenza piuttosto corposa, è quais un burro, quindi è perfetta se avete la pelle molto secca o se avete delle parti più secche dove volete una maggiore idratazione. Essendo molto ricca, lascia un residuo sulla pelle, quindi preferisco usarla la sera o se non sono di fretta per darle il tempo di assorbirsi.

2) Esteé Lauder Pleasures: Questa crema mi è stata regalata dalla madre del mio ragazzo e quello che vedete nella foto è il terzo flacone che ricompro! Ha un profumo delizioso che rimane sulla pelle tutto il giorno, è piacevolissima da usare perchè ha una consistenza molto leggera che si assorbe subito, quindi è perfetta anche se siete di corsa!

3) Lush Karma Kream: Questa è una delle mie preferite di sempre! Ha un profumo incredibile, è ricca ma non è troppo corposa, quindi si assorbe abbastanza in fretta. Io la uso tutto l'anno ma nei mesi è estivi è un Must! 

4) The Body Shop Coconut body butter: Adoro i prodotti di The Body shop e secondo me i loro body butters sono favolosi! Quello al cocco è il mio preferito, ma mi piacciono anche Mango e Fragola! Trattandosi di un burro, la consistenza è piuttosto corposa ma si assorbe piuttosto velocemente anche se quando la uso preferisco sempre attendere qualche minuto prima di vestirmi.

5) Cetaphil moisturizing lotion: Questa è la mia scoperta più recente! Ho deciso di provarla perchè avento la pelle sensibile, cercavo un prodotto davvero delicato e senza profumazione, perfetto anche da usare al mare. Beh devo dire che questo è un prodotto fantastico: da alla pelle la giusta idratazione pur essendo un idratante molto leggero che si assorbe subito e lascia la pelle liscia come quella di un bambino!!

New york haul - beauty and make up

Hi everyone! So here is my New York beauty and makeup haul :) I decided to separate the posts about my shopping so it will be more organized! As you can see I bought quite a lot of makeup! There were sooo many things I heard about and I wanted to try that was hard to narrow my selection down to these pieces! I haven't tried the most of these products yet but I can't wait and I'm pretty satisfied with what I got! Mainly I shopped at Sephora (which is just awesome), Drugstores (CVS was my favourite) and Henri Benel make department. What do you think? Have you ever tried some of these products? Ciao a tutti! Ecco il mio bottino da New York per quanto riguarda il trucco :) Ho deciso di separare i post riguardanti lo shopping, per rendere il tutto più ordinato! Come potete vedere ho comprato un bel po' di trucchi e prodotti vari! C'erano un sacco di cose che avrei voluto prendere, cose di cui avevo sentito parlare ed ero curiosa di provare, quindi è stata dura ridurre la mia scelta a questi prodotti! Ancora no ho provato granchè ma non vedo l'ora e riguardando tutto insieme, sono piuttosto soddisfatta della mia scelta! I negozi dove ho acquistato le cose che vedete sono stati principalmente Sephora (semplicemente fantastico!), vari drugstore (CVS è il mio preferito) e il reparto make up di Henri Bendel. Voi che ne pensate? Avete provato alcuni di questi prodotti? Cosa ne pensate?

 Yes to carrots - rosy bloom

I really like this lip balm, it's tinted but the color is very subtle so it's perfect for everyday use and it is quite mosturizing as well. It smell nice and considering it's a lip blam the tint stays on quite long.

Mi piace molto questo burrocacao, è colorato ma la tinta è molto delicata quindi può tranquillamente essere usato tutti i giorni ed è anche molto idratante. L'odore è molto gradevole e considerato che è un burrocacao, la tinta dura abbastanza a lungo.

Perlier - Honey 

Out of the bunch this is the most disappointing product! Its texure is really not working properly for me. It's very hard and almost impossible to apply. I noticed that now that the weather is warmer the lip balm is slightly more manageable but I don't think I'm going to repurchase it! It's a shame because it's organic and the smell is really nice.

Di tutti quelli che vi ho mostrato, questo prodotto è decisamente il più deludente! Ha una texture che per me proprio non funziona. E' durissimo, praticamente impossibile da applicare, anche se ho notato un leggero miglioramento ora che è arrivato il caldo, comunque non penso proprio che lo ricomprerei!  E' un peccato perchè è un prodotto naturale e ha anche un ottimo profumo.

Nuxe - Rêve de Miel

This lip balm is fantastic! Really is gives your lips a super natural and mosturized look, plus is matte (which I love). It smells like honey and citrus so it's very refreshing! The only down side is that it comes in a pot so I don't like to carry it in my purse but I'm pretty sure there's a stick version of it!

Questo balsamo per le labbra è davvero fantastico! Rende le labbra idratate e dall'aspetto super naturale ed è opaco, cosa che adoro. Profuma di miele e agrumi, è davvero fresco! L'unico lato negativo è che essendo in vasetto non mi piace portarlo in borsa, ma sono abbastanza sicura che esista anche la versione in stick!

Burt's Bees - Honey lip balm

Ok this is my favourite lip balm ever! It smells amazing (honey of course) and it leaves your lips soft and mosturized for a very long time! Burt's Bees have a wide range of lip balms but this one is by far my favourite! So I recommend you check it out!:)

Ok questo è il mio burrocacao preferito in assoluto! Ha un profumo buonissimo (di miele ovviamente XD) e lascia le labbra morbidissime e idratate! Burt's Bees ha una vasta gamma di burrocacao ma tra tutti, questo è il mio favorito in assoluto. Quindi vi consiglio di provarlo! :)
