East side stories - Lost and founds

Note to the reader: Hello everyone! Here we are with another one of my stories...get your tissues out for this because things are getting quite emotional. Pour yourself a glass of red wine, Bordeaux would be my choice and don't forget to play the music.

After a lovely night out with my Interior designer friend, chatting the night away while sipping a glass (or two) of Bordeaux. The place was recommended by Stig of course: The Vue is a trendy club with one of the most amazing views of Shanghai. Sting told me there was a surprise. Well it was true in fact there’s a big Jacuzzi in the middle of the roof terrace. Only in Shanghai...
It was just passed midnight and I didn't feel like going back to the hotel. The night was warm, the Bund was close and I just needed a walk surrounded by the tall dark buildings.
It's weird how safe you can feel in a place like this even late at night and it's even weirder how I noticed an envelope on a bench along the way, maybe abandoned, maybe lost or forgotten. I kept walking pretending I didn't see it...then my Louboutin decided they needed to rest for while...them...not me: I’m just pointing that out.

So I went back and sit down next to the envelope, with the same attitude you would have sitting on the subway surrounded by strangers, trying not to bother and to keep a distance but secretly trying to catch every movement. Eventually I broke the wait and took the letter in my hands. While I was opening it I felt like I was going to be punished and find some incomprehensible document written in Chinese. But instead…

Dear Love,
today there’s a beautiful unusual sun outside lighting up the bright blue sky, that rarely this city get to see.
Spring is just round the corner and its bright colors are slowly spreading like a sweet virus along the endless streets of the city. It’s a beautiful day in Shanghai.

But I feel like dead. In just a few hours I’ll be on that plane that will take me far away, far away from you, for a long time.
We already spent so many sleepless night talking, screaming, loving each other, discussing if it was right or wrong to take this job in Malaysia. I don’t want to keep talking about this here since the decision has been taken.

I had to take it. I couldn’t say no, not now, after all the sacrifices I made. It would have been a wonderful news, if only…if only…I haven’t met you, who changed my bitterness first into trust then into love. You changed everything.

This sun should give me energy, It should make me the happiest person on hearth. So why? Why my sky isn’t blue? Why am I crying and not with joy? If only could you came with me…I know…I know…you can’t, not like this, not now. I don’t even know how long I’ll be gone. I feel like my life doesn’t belong to me anymore.

I’m scared my Love. I’m scared time and distance will make us part and one day when we’ll meet again we won’t recognize each other. We will part ways.

Promise me we won’t let that happen.

You asked me to wake you up to take me to Pudong but you were so beautiful, sleeping so peacefully that I couldn’t.
I was a coward: I was afraid I couldn’t leave.

Sleep my Love. We had the most beautiful, endless days. Now we have some really hard ones to face. But no regrets, no recriminations: we can still have a bright future. Together. We won’t let people tell us that life isn’t beautiful. We know is not that way because we, together are proof it is.

Don’t stop dreaming Love.

                                                                                                                                D.

The emerald green ink had faded in some parts, make it hard to read. The tears of the one who wrote those words, those of the one who red them. The tears of them both and now mine as well.
I sat on that bench for a while, in the empty Bund, fantasizing on what I just red, trying to imagine the faces of those unlucky lovers…the reason why the letter was there…

Back to reality I went to railing and opened my hand letting the wind take those pages away. It was late night. I’ll never meet those lovers but after reading their story I really hope they’ll meet again and recognize each other…

Till next time...

Succede solo a Shanghai.

A lungo.

E riconoscersi…

Vi aspetto al prossimo racconto...

Travel with style

Travelling is one of my favorite things to do and even though I'm not too fond of packing I like to do it with style. This season the major Maisons came out with some really cool travel collections that I'm dying to add to my stash. Chanel have a whole travel-inspired new collection with gorgeous canvas pieces which may not be the most practical but are definitely chic. If you want something more durable, they have a few leather pieces as well and don't forget to check their bijoux, they're the cutest! Louis Vuitton added a new jungle print to a few of their iconic travel pieces and I really love the pink and red combo which adds a little something to these timeless gems.
Living in Florence I had to include Gucci and their new floral print on canvas, which is gorgeous. There many different prints and combination all unique, vaguely retro-inspired but with and edgy twist! I can't wait to leave for my next destination and with all these beautiful pieces I'll have a hard time picking my travel companion! Which style is your favorite?

Get ready for Summer with Corporelle the new line from Selvert Thermal

Every year it's the same story as we approach the warmer months we feel the urge to get in better shape. We go to the gym, even start a diet and we try to find a great cream to makes things easier (and faster). I'm always interested in trying new products because I think that the right ones really makes the difference in the appearance of our skin so I was very excited when I was contacted by Selvert Thermal to lear about Corporelle. It’s their newest line of body products and it’s targeted to improve the appearance of certain areas of our bodies. Its advanced and effective formulation contains thermal water with silicates, trace elements and bio saccharides.
The line is clinically tested and suitable for very sensitive skins. It is, as they say, “tailor made” to adapt to each customer’s need and offers a range of products that you can combine to fight directly the problem the concerns you the most. The products are aimed to fight aging, improve the skin elasticity and flexibility while prevent dehydration.
They are sold as a dual pack:

- Pack Slimming: Renovating Exfoliating Serum + Anti-Cellulite cream.
- Pack Push-up: Renovating Exfoliating Serum + Firming Push-Up cream

First of all let’s talk about the packaging! I love it! It’s practical yet very chic…plus it’s pink.
I got the chance to try the Push-up pack and I was particularly intrigued by the Serum. In fact this is not just a serum, it’s an exfoliant as well and combines these two elements in one tube which is brilliant!
You’re supposed apply it twice a week on clean, dry skin and massage until it has completely absorbed. Do not rinse and follow up with the second step. For me it was the Firming Push-up cream that I applied on my trouble areas two times a day with circular motions until it completely absorbed.

Both the products have a nice, clean, luxurious scent, that is not overpowering and a light, fast-absorbing texture that makes application really easy. After the application your skin feel smoother and instantly appears more compact. I’ve been trying these products for about two weeks and I can see my body is definitely firmer and more toned which is amazing! Of course you should  follow up with some sport a balanced diet. Selvert Thermal is definitely a brand I trust and they created another great line to make us look better and feel better instantly!

You can use these products at home but they also introduced four new in-Salon treatments. Selvert Thermal qualified experts will guide you to design your tailor made treatment, adapting it to your individual needs, combining the different masks and products designed to reduce, drain, tone, regenerate and get rid of stretch marks.

I recommend you to visit your local Salon and get your hands on these products asap!

- Pack Slimming: Renovating Exfoliating Serum + Anti-Cellulite cream.

- Pack Push-up: Renovating Exfoliating Serum + Firming Push-Up cream
