Loretta Caponi

Last Tuesday I was invited to visit Loretta Caponi boutique in Piazza Antinori, 4r in Florence, just at the end of Via Tornabuoni.  When I was a little girl I remember my mom use to buy me clothes there and growing up I use to stop to look at their windows a countless amount of times. So as you probably guessed I was more than happy to accept their invitation! Walking through the door you feel like time has stopped and you found yourself in a magical world. The atmosphere is really cozy and your eyes are drawn by the luxurious fresco ceiling, the gorgeous embroideries and the vintage treasures here and there that give the place a more retrò vibe. Ms Lucia Caponi welcomed me, opening the doors of her secret world to me. First of all she showed me the workshop where all these beautiful things came to life. In a world where everything is now mass produced it's amazing to see that here craftsmanship and attention to the details are the key of their brand and this is how the boutique is continuing what Ms Loretta Caponi herself started in the 50s.
What strikes me about this brand is that even tough they want to keep their style well defined, during the years they adapted it to better fit the needs and taste of their clients. Ms Lucia for example showed me some really modern swimsuit for men, made out of vintage fabric. This unique contrast made the product very fun and one of a kind! My favourite pieces were definitely the nightgowns, made in gorgeous silk and with amazing embroidery and bold colors, that looks like evening dresses!

If you came to Florence you should definitely go to the boutique, I'm sure you won't be disappointed and there's more! From July on the web shop http://www.lorettacaponi.com you will find and e-shop so keep your eyes peeled for that!
I hope you enjoyed the post!
