What's in my fridge aka my summer skin-care routine

Hi everyone! How are you doing? The past few weeks have been hectic and the weather...well was hot as hell! Today I want to share with you a little trick I've been using every time the weather gets crazy hot: I pop my skin care in the fridge! It's nothing revolutionary but it makes the difference. During the warmer months I switch my skin care using lighter products and spring waters like the one from Avène and Serozinc from La Roche-Posay which is great if you have oily or combo skin. I like to use moisturizer in gel form because they're lighter on the skin but still provide the right amount of moisture and when you put your cream and eye cream in the fridge is sooo much more pleasant to apply those products on your face. Of course I have to have a mask in my routine and my favorite at the moment is BB seaweed fresh mask from Lush. It's very soothing and since it's a fresh mask you have to keep it in the fridge so it's perfect when it's super hot outside and you need to refresh your skin! Ciao a tutti! Come state? Le settimane passate sono state davvero intense per me e non parliamo del caldo...davvero pazzesco!! Oggi quindi ho pensato di condividere con voi, un trucchetto che uso in estate: metto i miei prodotti di skin care in frigo. Non è niente di rivoluzionario, lo so, ma vi assicuro che fa la differenza. Nei mesi più caldi tendo a sostituire i miei prodotti per il viso, prediligendo quelli più leggeri e anche alcuni spray come l'acqua termale di Avène e il Serozinc di La Roche-Posay, che è perfetto se avete la pelle grassa o mista. Come crema da giorno mi piace usare prodotti in gel, perché sono più leggeri ma forniscono comunque la giusta idratazione alla mia pelle, stesso discorso per in contorno occhi. Ovviamente nella mia skin care non può mancare una maschera e la mia preferita al momento è Marinella di Lush, è una maschera fresca ad azione calmante. Proprio perché va conservata in frigo è perfetta da usare quando fa caldo e la nostra pelle ha bisogno di una rinfrescata! December favourites

Hello everyone! This is my last favourites post of 2014, can you believe it?! Well this time you'll see some old favourites as well as some new ones!

SKIN-CARE

La creme de la Mer is one of my all time favourite moisturizers. Actually this is my third jar and to be precise I use the gel which is more suitable for my combination skin. It's very light but gives my skin the right amount of moisture! I was very curious to try Lavanila deodorant. Everyone raves about it and it's all natural so it sounded quite interesting to me. I finally managed to grab one and I'm really loving it! I know...it's just deodorant but it's one of the nicest I've tried so far. I also wanted to include L'Occitane hand cream in the scent Arlésienne. It's rich but not sticky at all, it's perfect to pop in your bag during to cooler months and smells amazing!

MAKE-UP

Stila eye shadow in the colour Kitten is a re-discovery from the past! During holiday season I always enjoy a little bit of sparkle and this eye shadow is so pretty. I like to dab a little bit in the corner of my eye or use it all over my lid for a full-on sparkly look! For lips I have to options that actually works great used together. I'm talink about Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip balm and Nars crayon in Cruella. I like to apply the lip balm while doing my make-up than wipe it off and apply the lipstick which is mat and requires perfecly moisturized lips!

FRAGRANCE

My perfume of choice during December was Love from Chloé. It's a very femine scent, with floral, powdery notes a hint of musk and orange blossom.

 

RANDOM

This time I had to include a candle and my choice is from Yankee Candle in the scent Red apple wreath. So festive!! I also loved my Pandora bracelet, so easy to mix and match with my other jewelry!

Ciao a tutti! Questo è il mio ultimo post sui preferiti del mese per il 2014, ci credete?! Beh questa volta vi parlerò di alcuni vecchi amori e di alcune novità! Cominciamo?

SKIN-CARE

La Crema de la Mer è una delle mie preferite di sempre. A dire il vero sono alla mia terza confenzione e per essere precisi, uso la formula in gel, che meglio si addice alla mia pelle mista. La sua formula è leggera, ma davvero idratante! Era da un po' che volevo provare il deodorante di Lavanila. Tutti ne parlano benissimo, in più contiente ingredienti naturali, una combinazione che mi ha decisamente incuriosita. Alla fine sono riuscita a trovarne uno online e devo dire che mi piace un sacco! Lo so...è semplicemente un deodorante, ma è uno dei migliori che abbia provato fino a ora. Volevo anche includere una crema per le mani, visto che nella stagione invernale, ne sono avida consumatrice. La mia preferita è Arlésienne di L'Occitane. È molto idratante, senza essere appiccicosa, è perfetta da tenere in borsa e ha un profumo delizioso!

 

MAKE-UP

L'omretto Kitten, di Stila è stata una riscoperta questo mese! Durante le festività piace aggiungere un po' di luccichio al mio trucco e questo ombretto è perfetto per lo scopo. Mi piace metterne una punta nell'angolo interno dell'occhio o se voglio un look davvero festivo, lo metto su tutta la palpebra sfumandolo con un colore taupe! Per le labbra ho due opzioni da proporvi, che tra l'altro, insieme funzionano alla grande! Sto parlando del balsamo per labbra 8hr di Elizabeth Arden e della matita di Nars nel colore Cruella. Di solito applico il balsamo mentre mi trucco e poco prima di applicare il rossetto lo rimuovo con un fazzoletto, per assicurarmi di non avere residui sulle labbra. Cruella è un bellissimo rosso opaco e proprio per questo dovete assicurarvi che le vostre labbra siano idratate prima dell'applicazione, per un risultato impeccabile e a lunga tenuta!

PROFUMO

Per quanto rigurda il profumo la mia scelta, questo mese, è ricaduta su Love di Chloé. È una fragranza molto femminile, con note floreali e una punta di muschio e fiori d'arancio.

RANDOM

Questa volta volevo assolutamente includere una candela e la mia scelta è ricaduta su Red apple wreath di Yankee Candle. Per me ha il profumo del Natale!! Questo mese ho portato moltissimo il mio braccialetto di Pandora, è carinissio e così facile da abbinare ai miei altri accessori!

Gel de la Mer

I got this cream last year for Christmas and since it's very expensive I decided to go through the entire jar before giving you guys my thoughts about it. As you can see I have the gel version which is lighter and more suitable for oily or combination skin. The texture is very nice, it's a gel but you can definitely feel its moisturizing power. I like the consistency because it gives my skin the right amount of moist without make it look or feel greasy. You don't need much product to cover your entire face but while I was in NYC I learned a trick to make it last even longer. I was talking to a beauty advisor in Henri Bendel and she told me she likes to mix a drop of this cream with her favourite serum, this way you really need a tiny drop and you'll make the best use out of the product. I use it once a day as my day cream and I finished the jar at the beginning of last month so it lasted me 10 months which is good in my opinion. My skin really likes this cream and I definitely saw an improvement in my skin but keep in mind that if you don't take good care of your skin (cleansing, removing make up, using spf) this product alone is not enough. La Mer is a very expensive brand and this gel cream retails for about € 140 for 30ml so it's quite an investment. I loved the product and I will buy it again. In my opinion it worth the hype even tough I'm sure you can find cheaper moisturizer which will do the trick for you. If you're interested in giving it a go ask for a sample at your local beauty counter and try it. Christmas it just round the corner and this is something which I wouldn't mind finding under my Christmas tree!

Ho ricevuto questa crema in regalo lo scorso Natale e visto che è un prodotto piuttosto costoso, ho voluto aspettare di finire la confezione prima di condividere con voi la mia opinione a riguardo. Come potete vedere io ho la versione in gel, che è più leggera della crema e quindi si adatta meglio alle pelli grasse e miste. La consistenza è davvero piacevole e sebbene sia un gel si sente subito il suo potere idratante che però non lascia la pelle oleosa. Non serve molto prodotto, ma in ogni caso mentre ero a NY ho imparato un trucco per farla durare ancora di più. Una delle esperte del reparto beauty di Henri Bendel mi detto che lei mischia una piccola quantità del suo siero preferito alla crema così ne serve ancora meno e una confezione dura davvero una vita! Io la uso una volta al giorno, di solito al mattino e ho finito la confezione che vedete qui sopra all'inizio di Ottobre quindi diciamo che mi è durata circa 10 mesi, che secondo me non è affatto male. La mia pelle adora questa cream e devo dire che usandola costantemente ho visto dei miglioramenti e in generale ho avuto meno brufoletti del solito, ovviamente considerate prima di tutto, che se non vi prendere cura della vostra pelle in maniera completa (detergere, struccare, applicare la protezione solare), questo prodotto da solo non farà miracoli. La Mer offre ottimi prodotti ma sono tutti molto costosi, questa crema in gel viene venduta a un prezzo di circa € 140 per 30ml di prodotto, quindi come vedete è un vero e proprio investimento. Personalmente amo questo prodotto e lo ricomprerei, secondo me si merita l'ottima fama che ha anche se sono sicura che in giro potete trovare prodotti più economici che funzionano altrettanto bene per voi. Il mio consiglio, se siete curiose di provarla, è di andare nella profumeria più vicina e chiedere un campioncino per poterla provare e decidere se fa per voi o no. E poi ricordatevi che Natale è davvero vicino e a chi non piacerebbe trovare un regalo come questo sotto l'albero?! Spero che la mia recensione vi sia utile e vi auguro una buona giornata!

Love my minis!

During summer we're all more likely to go on small trips and that's when minis came in handy! During the year I'm often out of town so I built up a collection of my most favourite products but in miniature form! This way it's easier for me to pack a smaller amount of products and save space for other things! Well since holidays might be around the corner for some of you I decided to share my favourites mini sized products!

For body I like to bring with my favourite body wash from Lush which is Flying fox (in Italy it's called Dolce Vita) it has honey in it so it's very rich and smells lovely. Then I have Scrub your life from Soap & Glory which is one of my favourites and Kiehl's body lotion. I also like to carry with me a miniature size of Avène Eau thermale to spritz on my legs when it's super hot :)

For hair I have Kiehl's amino acid shampoo which smells like coconut and it's clarifyng but gentle, American cream conditioner from lush and Moroccan oil because I like to use some oil on my hair especially during summer and this one smells divine and a small drop goes a long way. I also carry a bottle of Elnett hair spray which holds your curls in place all day :)

For my skin care I always take with me a small bottle of Bioderma to cleanse and remove make-up I d-pot my favourite moisturizer and as you can see at the moment I'm using La mer which is sooo good! For fragrance I have a little stick of Marc Jacobs Daisy eau so fresh and a deodorant from Nivea. 

Least but not last I take a mini tooth brush and tooth paste set and if I have more products I don't have a mini size of I just use the clear plastic container you can find and Sephora or any drugstore and you're good to go!

In Estate siamo sicuramente più inclini a viaggiare, che sia per fare una vacanza o anche soltanto per una gita fuori porta quindi è la perfetta occasione in cui i mini prodotti tornano utili! Durante l'anno sono spesso fuori casa e così con il tempo ho preso l'abitudine di utilizzare i miei prodotti preferiti in versione mini e come vedete ne ho accumulati bel po'! In questo modo è più facile fare la valigia e si risparmia un sacco di spazio!! E visto che appunto le vacanze sono vicine, ho pensato di condividere con voi i miei prodotti mini preferiti!

Per quanto riguarda i prodotti per il corpo, mi piace portarmi dietro il mio bagnoschiuma preferito che è Dolce Vita di Lush, il suo ingrediente principale è il miele quindi è molto idratante e ha un profumo delizioso. Poi mi porto Scrub of your life di Soap & Glory, che è uno dei miei scrub preferiti e la lozione corpo di Kielh's.

Per i capelli ho il mio Amino acid shampoo di Kiehl's che profuma di cocco e lascia i capelli puliti e lucidi e il balsamo American Cream di Lush, se non lo avete provato ve lo consiglio, non è troppo pesante e quindi è perfetto per l'estate! Dopo shampo e balsamo uso quasi sempre un olio e uno dei miei preferiti è il Moroccan Oil, ne basta davvero pochissimo e anche questo ha un profumo incredibile! Per finire porto anche la lacca della Elnett, che tiene i capelli a posto per tutto il giorno!

Per quanto riguarda la cura della pelle porto sempre una mini boccetta di Bioderma e l'idratante che uso al momento, che come vedete è la crema di La Mer, davvero ottima. Aggiungo il profumo, in questo caso Daisy eau so fresh di Marc Jacobs e il deodorante della Nivea.

Per finire il kit con dentifricio e spazzolino e se ho qualche altro prodotto che voglio portare, ma di cui non posseggo la versione mini, non faccio altro che trasferirlo in un contenitore trasparente come quelli che si trovano da Sephora o in qualsiasi profumeria e sono pronta per partire!

Diptyque and Chanel

 

The past weekend I was in Umbria to visit my bf and I randomly did some shopping! I wasn't really looking to buy anything but then I spotted those nail polishes from the new Chanel collection and I couldn't resist!! I love them both and I'm really excited to try them! Did you get them? Let me know what you think about them!

Then we went out to get a drink and I suddendly spotted Diptyque candles in a window shop...so I had to check them out! Well of course I brought one home :) I chose Jasmin which smells amazing! The shop carries a lot of Diptique products, beautiful perfumes and also clothes!! It is such a lovely shop and the owners are super friendly and nice! Lo scorso fine settimana sono stata in Umbria a trovare il mio ragazzo e tra le varie cose ho fatto un po' di acquistini!! In realtà non cercavo niente di particolare, ma quando ho visto questi smalti della nuova collezione di Chanel, non ho resitito! Adoro entrambi i colori e non vedo l'ora di provarli! Qualcuna di voi li ha presi? Che ne pensate?

Poi siamo andati a fare aperitivo e lungo la strada ho notato, nella vetrina di un negozio, le candele Diptyque...quindi sono entrata a curiosare! Beh ovviamente me ne sono portata una a casa :) Ho scelto Jasmin che ha un profumo delizioso! La profumeria in questione, ha un sacco di prodotti della Diptyque, profumi dalle bottigliette bellissime e un sacco di altre cose come accessori e vestiti!
