THE BODY SHOP

I always loved The Body Shop, it reminds me of summers in London with my mum browsing through the shelves and smelling every single product in the shop. I was so sad when the store in Florence shut down and even though is not as satisfying now I shop on their website.

Every season they came up with new fragrances and the one that caught my attention was definitely Piñita Colada…sounds delicious right?! It smells like summer, like a walk on the beach, like a nice cocktail: I’m already addicted! I picked up the body butter and the shower gel both are incredible, to get along with that I also picked up the Wild Argan Oil shower gel, with is one of my favourite scents, perfect for summer and last but not least a sun screen. It’s the Skin Defence multi-protection essence a 50+ sunscreen for your face but unlike many others the formula is very thin, easy to apply and non-sticky. I’m loving it so far. The also included lots of samples that I can’t wait to get in the full size, especially Honeymania Body butter…I’m just saying.

Adoro i prodotti di The Body Shop, mi ricordano l’estate, Londra, i pomeriggi passati con mia mamma aggirandoci per gli scaffali e annusando ogni singolo prodotto. Mi è dispiaciuto un sacco quando il punto vendita di Firenze ha chiuso quindi adesso, anche se non è la stessa cosa, utilizzo il loro shop online.

Ogni stagione lanciano qualche nuova linea e quella che mi ha incuriosita di più è decisamente Piñita Colada…promette bene vero? Ha un profumo delizioso, che ricorda l’estate, la spiaggia, un delizioso cocktail: insomma un vero must! Ho preso sia il burro corpo che il bagnoschiuma e sono entrambi favolosi, ho aggiunto poi il bagnoschiuma all’Olio di Argan, una della mie linee preferite di sempre, super idratante e perfetta per l’estate. Per finire ho deciso di prendere una protezione solare per il viso. Si tratta della Skin Defence multi-protection essence ed è uno dei loro nuovi prodotti. Nonostante sia una protezione 50+ la sua texture è leggerissima, facile da applicare e soprattutto non appiccicosa. Mi sta piacendo molto e fino ad ora non mi ha irritato la pelle o fatto venire brufoli. Nella confezione che ho ricevuto c’erano anche un sacco di campioncini e ovviamente sto pianificando nuovi acquisti, come per esempio il burro corso Honeymania se vi capita, provatelo è davvero incredibile.

Laura Mercier

Hi everyone! Recently a store in my area started selling Laura Mercier products so I decided to try a couple of them out! I picked up a tinted moisturizer in their oil-free formula that works great on oily and combination skin. The texture is really silky and it has a light coverage but you can buil it up if you need to. I chose the color bisque which is perfect for my fair skin! Then I also got a body butter in fresh fig. Lately I'm obssessed with fig scents so I just couldn't let this go. Laura Mercier products are definitely expensive but for what I've seen so far the quality is really good so if you want to treat yourself I recommend to check them out :) I'll be posting more in-depth reviews on these products so keep your eyes peeled for that!!

Ciao a tutti! Di recente la Coin di Firenze ha aperto un corner con i prodotti di Laura Mercier e visto che era un sacco che volevo provarli, ho deciso di prendere un paio di cose! Ho preso il tinted moisturizer nella formula oil-free, perfetta per le pelli miste e grasse. Ha una consistenza davvero setosa, la copertura è leggera ma si può intensificare riapplicando il prodotto nelle zone dove si ha più bisogno. Ho scelto il colore Bisque, che è perfetto per la mia pelle chiara! Ho preso anche uno dei loro body butter nella profumazione Fresh Fig. Ultimamente sono fissata con i prodotti al fico e quando ho provato questo non sono riuscita a lasciarlo li! I prodotti di Laura Mercier sono piuttosto costosi ma per quella che è la mia esperienza fino ad ora, la qualità è ottima, quindi se volete coccolarvi e farvi (o farvi fare) un bel regalo, vi consiglio di dargli un'occhiata :) Più avanti recensirò questi prodotti in maniera più approfondita, quindi tornate a trovarmi se volete saperne di più!!

My favourite moisturizers

We all know that one of the main tricks for achieving a nice smooth skin is using a moisturizer and now that Summer is just around the corner we all should start to prep! There are loads of them on the market and choosing one that is righ for our skin is not always so simple so I decided to share with you some of my favourites!

1) Burt's Bees richly replenishing body lotion: This has a very buttery feel, the texture is very rich so it's perfect if you have really dry skin or to use just where you need more moist. It leaves a residue on the skin so my advice is to use it at night or when you have time to let it soak.

2) Esteé Lauder Pleasures: I got this lotion as a gift from my bf's mom and I'm pretty sure this is my third bottle. This stuff smells amazing and the scent stays on your skin all day. It's very pleasant to use because of its light texture. It immedialy absorbs into your skin so it's great even when you are in a hurry!

3) Lush Karma Kream: This is one of my all time favourites! Smells like heaven and it's not to thick and easy to absorb. I use it all year round but during Summer it's a must have!

4) The Body Shop Coconut body butter: I love The Body shop and I think their body butters are amazing! The Coconut one is my favourite but I also like Mango and Strawberry! The texture of this one is quite thick but it soaks into your skin nicely even though I give it a couple minute to completely absorb before putting my clothes on.

5) Cetaphil moisturizing lotion: This is my most recent discovery and I decided to try it because my skin is sensitive and I wanted something extremely gentle and not scented that I can use on the beach as well. Well this is such a great product: gives your skin just the right amount of moist yet it's very light so it soaks into your skin in a few seconds leaving it baby soft!!

Sappiamo tutti che per avere una pelle liscia e morbida dobbiamo usare un buon idratante e con l'Estate alle porte, è giunto il momento di iniziare a preparci! Sul mercato ci sono moltissimi prodotti idratanti e alle volte diventa difficile scegliere quello più giusto per la nostra pelle, quindi ho deciso di parlarvi dei miei idratanti preferiti anche se la cosa migliore che potete fare è ovviamente provarli!

1) Burt's Bees richly replenishing body lotion: Questa crema ha una consistenza piuttosto corposa, è quais un burro, quindi è perfetta se avete la pelle molto secca o se avete delle parti più secche dove volete una maggiore idratazione. Essendo molto ricca, lascia un residuo sulla pelle, quindi preferisco usarla la sera o se non sono di fretta per darle il tempo di assorbirsi.

2) Esteé Lauder Pleasures: Questa crema mi è stata regalata dalla madre del mio ragazzo e quello che vedete nella foto è il terzo flacone che ricompro! Ha un profumo delizioso che rimane sulla pelle tutto il giorno, è piacevolissima da usare perchè ha una consistenza molto leggera che si assorbe subito, quindi è perfetta anche se siete di corsa!

3) Lush Karma Kream: Questa è una delle mie preferite di sempre! Ha un profumo incredibile, è ricca ma non è troppo corposa, quindi si assorbe abbastanza in fretta. Io la uso tutto l'anno ma nei mesi è estivi è un Must! 

4) The Body Shop Coconut body butter: Adoro i prodotti di The Body shop e secondo me i loro body butters sono favolosi! Quello al cocco è il mio preferito, ma mi piacciono anche Mango e Fragola! Trattandosi di un burro, la consistenza è piuttosto corposa ma si assorbe piuttosto velocemente anche se quando la uso preferisco sempre attendere qualche minuto prima di vestirmi.

5) Cetaphil moisturizing lotion: Questa è la mia scoperta più recente! Ho deciso di provarla perchè avento la pelle sensibile, cercavo un prodotto davvero delicato e senza profumazione, perfetto anche da usare al mare. Beh devo dire che questo è un prodotto fantastico: da alla pelle la giusta idratazione pur essendo un idratante molto leggero che si assorbe subito e lascia la pelle liscia come quella di un bambino!!
